What if your boyfriend is a dirty rat bastard?

I had a reader contact me asking what to do if she found out that she too had a boyfriend who was a dirty, rat bastard. I immediatly thought of the Julia Roberts Dennis Quaid movie where Julia's character tried to poison her cheating husband. She failed. He got mad. And yet they got together at the end of the movie.

Knowing everything that I know now about Galen P. Sanderson and his adulterous relationship with his bi-sexual girlfriend, I would have to say to my reader get out as quickly as you can before any more emotional damage is done. But I didn't do that. I fought hard to salvage our relationship and sufered a lot more pain in the process.

I think with the benefit of hindsight I'd have to say analyze your feelings in light of his deception before you do anything. Poisoning him, leaving him, or fighting to keep him. Be sure that you can live with leaving him. Be sure that you can live with staying with him and not trusting him. Those are basically your only two legal options. The poisoning one can get you into a lot of trouble.

Now having said that I have to admit that I've toyed with all sorts of ideas to get back at Galen for lying to me and cheating on me. But blowing up his car, hacking his web site, tatooing "bastard" across his bald head, or renting a billboard to tell all traveler's up and down I-77 through Charlotte of his adulterous affair seem extravagant.

What Galen deserves is exactly what he'll ultimately get by being with a cheater. Karma is a beautiful thing.

If your boyfriend is a dirty, rat bastard, the best you can hope for is that you can walk away a stronger, wiser, better woman than the piece of trash that he is cheating with.
